New Testament Church
Christian Based Hub Site

Overview
The New Testament Church website serves as a central hub for Christians to access study materials, upcoming meetings, congregational information, Q&A discussions, and community updates. Over time, the original site became outdated, cluttered, and difficult for users to navigate. Once a well-known resource, its lack of maintenance led to a significant drop in engagement and usability. This redesign project focuses on reviving the platform to better meet the needs of modern users and restore its role as a valuable resource for the Christian community.
Goal
The goal of this project was to redesign the New Testament Church website to create a more engaging and user-friendly experience. This included improving the information hierarchy, modernizing the interface, and making it easier for users to quickly find what they’re looking for. In addition to the redesign, I aimed to introduce new features that encourage user interaction and community involvement, helping reestablish the site as the central online hub for study tools, connection, and faith-based learning.

User Interviews & Analysis
To better understand what users need and the challenges they face with the current site, I conducted interviews to gather their thoughts on pain points, features, and interaction. Afterwards, I organized the information to pinpoint the areas that needed the most focus.

Personas
Based on the interview answers, I created three personas representing three sides of a broad spectrum. First we have Daniel, a tech-savvy IT specialist who values staying spiritually connected while traveling and seeks an easier, more engaging way to access faith-based resources online. Next there's Linda, an older, lifelong member of the Church of Christ who isn’t very tech-savvy and values a simple, welcoming website that helps her stay spiritually connected without feeling overwhelmed. Lastly Jordan, a spiritually curious writer and podcast editor who wants a clear, scripture-based website that helps him learn about Christianity without pressure, jargon, or overwhelming design.

I then moved on to creating the site map, which helped me visualize all the pages of the website and better understand its information architecture. This process allowed me to identify gaps and reorganize the structure of the older site to improve navigation and overall usability.

Design Process
In the design process, you’ll find several highlighted features of the redesign. I compared the old site’s layout with the new high-fidelity prototype to showcase how key improvements were made in areas such as finding meetings, accessing congregation info, exploring audio lessons, and engaging with the Q&A section. I enjoyed taking insights from user interviews and transforming them into a more intuitive and engaging experience. My focus was on creating a design that not only captures attention but also functions effectively to meet users’ needs.

Testing & Results
For testing, I had participants go through a series of scenarios and tasks while thinking aloud, allowing me to observe their thoughts, behaviors, and emotions as they completed each one. Below, I have Jakob Nielsen's severity rating scale.
Scenario 1: You and your family are traveling, and your trip falls on a Sunday. You’re unsure if there are any Churches in the area, so you need to find one and contact them to finalize your plans. How would you go about this?

Scenario 2: You want to attend a meeting but are unsure when the next one is or if it’s nearby. You’d like to find a meeting that fits your schedule so you can stay for the entire duration. Please proceed with this task.

Task 1: Listen to a lesson

Task 2: Create a prayer request

Task 3: Submit a question in the Q&A

Task 4: Make a donation

High Fidelity - Final
Here is my completed high-fidelity prototype, showcasing the final design and functionality of the new site. From this stage, my client will move forward with development, using my design as the foundation for their updated website. I’ve included both an overview of the final design and a link to the interactive prototype for a closer look at the full user experience.
